Handout photo</div></figcaption></figure></div>MANILA, Philippines — Following his successful title defense against Hideki Sekine of Japan, ONE heavyweight king Brandon &quot;The Truth&quot; Vera talked about his plans when the time comes that he decides to leave the fight game.One of his options is to live a quiet life in the province. As a farmer.Vera recently acquired his Philippine passport and he said he is looking forward to living the rest of his life here.&quot;This is home, I&#x27;m a dual citizen. I&#x27;ve been chasing my dual citizenship here since as far I can remember. I just got it three weeks ago from the DFA (Department of Foreign Affairs),&quot; Vera said during the post-fight presser Friday night.The Filipino-American traces his roots in Quezon province, his father&#x27;s birthplace. Vera has seen how people live in the province and that’s what he wants to do when he hangs his gloves.&quot;Gusto kong magsaka,” said Vera. &quot;I want to be a farmer when I retire, gusto ko lang ng tahimik na buhay.&quot;(I want to farm land. I want a quiet life.Vera is also trying his luck in acting. He said he’ll begin shooting a film on Sunday with Ann Curtis and director Erik Matti for the movie &quot;Buy Bust.&quot;He has previously said that he plans to follow in Manny Pacquiao&#x27;s footsteps and serve in the Senate. &quot;I want to help people in the provinces. I’m just following Pacquiao’s lead,&quot; said Vera. &quot;I love seeing him in Senate hearings.&quot;But as long as his body permits, Vera said he will concentrate on fighting.“As a fighter I don&#x27;t know when I&#x27;m gonna retire. I wanna try fighting as many as I can, until I get the feeling na kelangan ko nang magretire,” he said.<div><a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/11/24/16/vera-wants-to-run-for-senate-like-pacquiao">Vera wants to run for Senate like Pacquiao</a></div>Against Hideki, Vera looked like he still has a lot of game left in him.He dominated the Japanese grappler by maintaining a safe distance before launching his kicks. The shorter Hideki attempted to go for a takedown, but Vera launched a perfectly timed knee to Hideki&#x27;s face that bent the Japanese fighter&#x27;s nose sideways.Vera then connected a roundhouse to Hideki’s body, one that had the Japanese retreating. The champion chased him down and unloaded bombs until the referee stepped in to stop the match.Vera said he had a scare when Hideki, a vicious grappler, went for a takedown. He said he didn’t notice that he broke Sekine’s nose.&quot;He almost took me down, I didn’t realize that I crushed his nose. I all honestly, I was thinking &#x27;Oh s**t! He almost took me down!&#x27; &quot; he said.&quot;He’s strong, super strong.
