The Cup will take place in Manila, Okinawa and Jakarta. FIBA awarded the hosting rights to the three countries on Saturday night (Manila time) after Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas and its counterparts from Japan and Indonesia showcased how they can help grow basketball exponentially.The SBP also proposed the 55,000-seater Philippine Arena as a venue for the finals. Back in 2015, the SBP fell short in its bid when FIBA decided to grant China the right to host the 2019 Basketball World Cup.This time, however, the Philippines decided to team up with Japan and Indonesia for a shared bid against a joint proposal from Argentina and Uruguay.Filipino basketball fans also rallied via social media by using the hashtag #PlayLouderIn2023 to boost the bid.The three countries made their joint presentation before FIBA&#x27;s Central Board in Geneva.(For more sports coverage, visit the <a href="http://sports.abs-cbn.com/">ABS-CBN Sports website.</a>)
