ANTIPOLO CITY (UPDATED) – Playmaker Gel Cayuna led Cignal past Farm Fresh, 25-15, 25-18, 25-21, on Saturday at the Ynares Center for their first win in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference.

Cayuna was at the steering wheel, orchestrating the HD Spikers' offense with 16 excellent sets and also had five points.

Coach Shaq delos Santos, while his team saw a quick 1-hour 35-minute win, said that they still have a lot of things to work on.

"Siyempre sobrang happy sa naging performance nung team. We know na 'di pa 'yun ang gusto nilang gawin. Marami pa kaming pwedeng i-execute nang maayos," Delos Santos said.

"But ang good thing, nag-perform lahat and hopefully, madala pa namin sa next games namin," he added.

Captain Ces Molina had a team-high 14 points on 11 attacks and three service aces, while star libero Dawn Catindig was steady at the defensive side, tallying 20 excellent digs and five excellent receptions.

Opposite spiker Trisha Tubu paced the losing Foxies side with a game-high 15 points all clinched from attacks.

The action also meant ex-Cignal players Rachel Anne Daquis and Jheck Dionela facing their original squad on the other side of the court, although they did not enter the taraflex.

Daquis previously said she wanted to be a "hundred percent" before playing pro volleyball again.

Cignal (1-0) will be facing Chery Tiggo next on Thursday, while Farm Fresh (0-1) battles Petro Gazz in Candon City exactly a week from now.
