Photo from UAAP Media.</div>MANILA (UPDATED) — National University is still alive in the UAAP Season 87 men&#x27;s basketball tournament.The Bulldogs avoided early elimination after their strong fourth quarter against University of Santo Tomas which led to a 67-62 win, Wednesday evening at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.Jolo Manansala had 18 points, seven rebounds, and two assists to lead the Jeff Napa-mentored team, while PJ Palacielo and Jake Figueroa followed him with 15 and 13, respectively.&quot;Para sa mga naniniwala na hindi namin namin tinalo yung UP, ito yung kasunod,&quot; said Napa after the game that pushed them to 4-8 in the team stadings. &quot;Hindi tsamba yung panalo namin sa UP. Hindi malas yung UP. Naglaro kami nang tama, ito tinalo namin UST, naglaro uli kami nang tama. Ganoon ka-simple,&quot; he added.The Bulldogs indeed played the right way especially in the fourth as when they were down 55-47 to start the final period, NU went on a 17-to-3 run to overtake the Tigers by six, 64-58, following a triple and a dunk by Jake Figueroa with still 4:36 left in the game.Kyle Paranada stopped the bleeding and got UST to within three after his trey at the 3:18 mark, but Christian Manaytay and Nic Cabañero missed on their chances to tie the game despite having clean shots at the rim in their next possessions.The Bulldogs then went on to extend their lead to five after Reinhard Jumamoy and Jolo Manansala made three of NU&#x27;s last four attempts at the foul line in the end game. Aside from squandering a 13-point lead, adding to the demise of the Tigers was them only scoring seven total points for the entirety of the fourth period to the 20 of NU. UST leaned on Cabañero&#x27;s 19, Mo Tounkara&#x27;s 15, and Paranada and Manaytay who both had eight.
