PBA Media"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">The TNT Tropang GIGA celebrates after winning the 2024 PBA Governors&#x27; Cup championship, November 8, 2024 at the Araneta Coliseum. <em>PBA Media</em></span></span></span></div><div><span data-teams="true" id="isPasted"><span dir="ltr"></span></span></div><p>MANILA, Philippines<strong> (UPDATED) </strong>– The TNT Tropang Giga are champions of the PBA Governors&#x27; Cup once again.</p><p>The Tropang Giga were triumphant in defending their Govs&#x27; Cup crown after taking down Barangay Ginebra in Game 6, 95-85, on Friday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City in front of 14,668 fans.</p><p>This also marks the 10th PBA title of the Manny V. Pangilinan-owned squad.</p><p>&quot;I would like to give credit to coach Tim and the entire Ginebra team. It&#x27;s a hell of a series, especially this last game, Game 6,&quot; said coach Chot Reyes during the postgame press conference.</p><p>The Gin Kings looked like they were forcing a winner-take-all match, entering the final canto with a 74-66 separation.</p><p>However, as Poy Erram coined it later on, TNT &quot;wanted it more down the stretch.&quot;</p><p>Led by Best Import awardee Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Cebuano RR Pogoy, the Tropang Giga came back in the match, outscoring the Ginebra side in the fourth quarter, 29-11.</p><p>From an 85-83 Ginebra lead at the 4:57 mark after a Justin Brownlee jumper, TNT unleashed a 12-0 run to seal the deal, highlighted by a dagger triple by Pogoy with 53 seconds left.</p><p>Hollis-Jefferson did it all for TNT, logging 31 points to go with 16 rebounds, eight assists, and two steals.</p><p>Eventual Finals MVP Jayson Castro added 13, while Pogoy also concluded the game with a 13-piece of his own.</p><p>TNT also had to survive the 31-point output of PBA rookie RJ Abarrientos, who also kept the championship hopes of Ginebra in the payoff period.</p><p>&quot;We couldn&#x27;t stop Abarrientos.
