<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib fr-fil"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1714053188564PVL 2024 PLDT vs. Creamline - Savi Davison-7720.jpg" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-fil"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">PLDT&#x27;s Savi Davison. <em>Photo from PVL Media Bureau</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA (<strong>UPDATED</strong>) – PLDT will exit the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on a winning note after beating semis-bound and defending champion Creamline in four sets, 22-25, 25-14, 25-22, 27-25, on Thursday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City. </p><p>The High Speed Hitters (23 points) again fell short in their campaign and placed just outside the Final Four, concluding their All-Filipino with an 8-3 win-loss card and a point behind the Cool Smashers (24 points). </p><p>PLDT notched fifth place in the 2023 Second All-Filipino. </p><p>The victory also meant ending the High Speed Hitters&#x27; dry spell versus the Cool Smashers over a nine-game stretch in the league since 2021 Open Conference.</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/2024/4/24/pvl-bdl-denden-at-peace-in-creamline-nest-1823"><strong>READ: PVL: Bea de Leon, Denden Lazaro &#x27;at peace&#x27; in Creamline nest</strong></a></div><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/2024/4/18/pvl-creamline-reasserts-mastery-of-choco-mucho-1705"><strong>READ: PVL: Creamline reasserts mastery of Choco Mucho</strong></a></div><p>According to coach Rald Ricafort not winning over Creamline in three years served as extra motivation for the High Speed Hitters. </p><p>&quot;Actually, &#x27;yun nga, part ng motivation kasi nga very difficult naman &#x27;yung scenario na kailangan namin para makapasok pero hindi naman nga pwedeng tapusin lang na daanan lang namin so nandiyan &#x27;yung motivaton na kung hindi man makapasok at least makaisa man lang tayo before matapos,&quot; Ricafort said during the postgame press conference. </p><p>&quot;Saka &#x27;yun nga, hindi pa nila nakukuha ever since so malaki siguro naman &#x27;yung epekto sa &#x27;min, sana,&quot; he added. </p><p>Savi Davison did what she does best after firing a game-high 27 points built on 25 attacks, one block and an ace, while Erika Santos delivered 15 for the offense. </p><p>Davison also showed her complete game tonight with 15 excellent receptions, while Kath Arado (16 digs) and Fiola Ceballos (10 digs) were also there for PLDT&#x27;s defense. </p><p>Jema Galanza paced the losing side with 16 markers.</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/2024/4/20/cignal-conquers-pldt-in-4-sets-2157"><strong>READ: Fight for pride: Cignal conquers PLDT in 4 sets</strong></a></div><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/2024/4/23/what-went-wrong-for-pldt-according-to-savi-davison-1642"><strong>READ: PVL: What went wrong for PLDT, according to Savi Davison</strong></a></div><div><strong></strong><strong></strong><strong></strong><em></em></div><p>The Cool Smashers were on pace to clinch Set 4 after building a 22-18 cushion late in the frame, but the High Speed Hitters clawed their way back and finally overtook off a Davison down-the-line kill, 23-22. </p><p>And then the High Speed Hitters took the extended frame from a 25-all deadlock as Santos unleashed a spark spike and Majoy Baron blocked a Cool Smasher&#x27;s attempt. </p><p>The Creamline coaching staff challenged the last play for net touch but was unsuccessful.</p>
