MANILA -- The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) on Tuesday announced the appointment of Josep &quot;Pep&quot; Ferré as its new technical director.Ferré, a UEFA Coach with a PRO license from the Royal Spanish Federation, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Sciences from the University of Barcelona and a Master’s degree in football coaching from the Coaches Formation Center CENAFE in Madrid.<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img alt="Coach Josep &#x27;Pep&#x27; Ferré, new technical director of the Philippine Football Federation. Jeck Batallones, ABS-CBN News</figcaption></figure></div>He is also well-acquainted with Philippine football, having served as the head coach of the Philippine men&#x27;s national football team during their campaign in the 2022 AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup campaign. &quot;We look forward to collaborating with Coach Pep Ferré in creating and implementing a national plan that leverages the development of not just the players and the coaches, but all the football stakeholders in the country, with a special focus on what our regional FAs can contribute,&quot; PFF President John Gutierrez said.With over 20 years of experience, Ferré&#x27;s coaching career spans multiple countries and levels of play.He has served as an assistant coach in Indonesia’s Persis Solo and India’s East Bengal FC. He also served as head coach for Bangkok Glass FC and Ratchaburi FC in the Thai Premier League and for FC Bayamon in Puerto Rico.Ferré’s impact extends to youth football as well. He has been the Head Coach for Buriram United Team B in the Thailand Premier League and served as Academy Director and U19 Head Coach for Kitchee SC in Hong Kong. Additionally, he was the Academy Director for FC Barcelona Escola in Egypt, further highlighting his dedication to developing young talent.Ferré, along with PFF Director of Football Vincent Santos, has already begun traveling around the country to observe matches, engage with FA officials and coaches, and assess players.
