MANILA - Filipina golfers Bianca Pagdanganan and Dottie Ardina are set to gain some steam ahead of their respective 2024 Paris Olympic Games campaigns.

The two Olympians will be competing in the Canadian Women's Open in Calgary, Alberta which opens tomorrow, a few days before the Summer Games' golf event commences.

But before Pagdanganan continued her preparation for her return trip to the Olympics, the 26-year-old University of Arizona product first made a name for herself as an Assumption College Antipolo high school standout.

She previously tallied second-place wins at the 2012 PHILEX Northern Luzon Regional Amateur Golf Championship and the 2013 Philippine Amateur Open, and what highlighted her early years in the sport was her triumph in the 2014 Philippine Junior Amateur Open.

Pagdanganan then went on to attend Gonzaga University in the early years of her collegiate career, but it was with Arizona Wildcats that she made a splash as Bianca contributed to their 2018 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship.

What followed this was gold and bronze medals in the 2018 Asian Games' team and individual events, respectively, and she also earned gold finishes in the same divisions of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.

This eventually allowed her to gain enough experience to represent the Philippines in golf during the 2021 Tokyo Games, and it will be in Paris where she will be looking to bounce back from her early finish there.

Meanwhile, Ardina will finally complete her journey to the quadrennial games after backing out in 2016 due to Zika Virus.

The 30-year-old Calamba, Laguna native recently finished joint seventh during the LPGA Tour Dana Open in Ohio earlier this week, and this mirrors her success during her earlier years in the sport.

Upon her entry into the professional ranks in 2013, she also earned numerous victories like the 2014 Thailand Singha-Sat LPGA Championships and the 2015 Four Winds Invitational (2nd place).

And while she missed the 2016 Rio Games, Dottie continued to bring honor to the country by participating and clinching wins in the 2020 Ballarat Icons Pro-Am and the 2022 EPSON Tour Copper Rock Championship in Utah.

Ardina and Pagdanganan will now look to bank on their stuffed resume as well as their upcoming stop in Canada to boost their Olympic stocks and hopefully clinch a podium finish for the country.

The pair of Filipina stars will open their Paris campaigns on August 7.
