Handout/PFF"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">FEU celebrates after winning the United Women&#x27;s Invitational Football League, August 25, 2024 at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium. <em>Handout/PFF</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA -- Far Eastern University emerged as champions of the inaugural United Women&#x27;s Invitational Football League after edging Kaya FC-Iloilo, 1-0, in Sunday&#x27;s final at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.</p><p>Carmela Altiche scored the marginal goal in the 37th minute for FEU, and Yasmine Elauria, fresh from her stint in the Philippine Women&#x27;s National Team training camp, produced a number of key saves to solidify the Lady Tamaraws&#x27; unbeaten campaign, with five wins in the cup division.</p><p>Manila Digger FC took third place after beating the University of the Philippines, 1-0, in the bronze medal match. National team forward Quinley Quezada scored from the penalty spot in the 36th minute to put Digger ahead.</p><p>De La Salle University showed no remorse as they claimed the Plate Division championship following an 8-1 hammering of Tuloy FC.</p><p>Tournament top scorer Alisha Del Campo fired four goals, while Arantxa Trebol, Danielle Tanjangco, Aliexa Casi, and Samantha Toledo, added a goal each.</p><p>The morning kickoff saw the University of Santo Tomas clinched a 5-4 penalty shootout win over the Ateneo de Manila University after it finished 1-1 in regulation. Tootchie Eval opened the scoring for the Blue Eagles in the 24th minute, but was canceled out by Maria Gerona&#x27;s leveler in the 50th minute leading to the shootout.</p><p>FEU captain Dionesa Tolentin was named the tournament&#x27;s Most Valuable Player while Elauria and Sarahgen Tulabing were named best goalkeeper and best midfielder respectively.</p><p>Kaya&#x27;s Hali Long was adjudged as the best defender with De La Salle&#x27;s Del Campo was the tournament&#x27;s top scorer with six goals in the competition.</p><p>The tournament has been sanctioned by the Philippine Football Federation.</p><div><br/></div><div><br/></div><div><br/></div>
