MANILA – Reflecting on PLDT's semifinal loss against Akari in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference, middle blocker Majoy Baron admitted that the defeat was "hard to accept."

The High Speed Hitters saw their title hopes gone after suffering a heartbreak to the Chargers, 22-25, 25-18, 25-22, 24-26, 15-17, on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

They were a point away from advancing to the Finals, but breaks of the game didn't favor them as the Rald Ricafort-coached squad saw a net fault challenge go unsuccessful--to which they protested, but to no avail as the PVL stood by its decision.

But there's no crying over spilled milk for the High Speed Hitters as Baron asserted that they would move forward from it as she hailed the team's chemistry.

"Honestly, the last match result was hard for us to accept. But as a team, all we can do is to get back on our feet and fight. We have each other and we know we work hard as a team this conference," said Baron in comments provided by the team to ABS-CBN News.

PLDT will be facing its sister team, the Cignal HD Spikers, for a podium finish in the import-laden tourney.

In case they win, it would be the High Speed Hitters' first third-place conclusion since joining the league in 2021.

The former De La Salle University stalwart said they will give their "best effort" on Wednesday.

"The coaches are just so proud of everyone. They know we gave our best effort this conference and we played with passion and not for anything else. We promise to do so in our remaining match," Baron said.

First serve is at 4 p.m.
