Chris McCullough shone the team anew in their 99-87 victory over Al Nasr SC during their early Sunday morning (Manila time) faceoff at the Al Nasr Club. The former San Miguel Beerman had 31 points with nine rebounds, three assists, and a block to help SGA improve to 2-0, while Mikey Williams scattered 16 markers (4/5 3pts) and four dimes. Also contributing to the victory were Shaun Ildefonso (13 points, four rebounds, two assists), veteran guard Jason Brickman (9 points), and Demarcus Cousins and Malachi Richardson who both had eight. Despite faltering their 27-point, 67-40 advantage midway through the third period as an onslaught by Al Nasr allowed them to get to within five, 77-72, with only 7:21 left in the game, SGA regained its footing just in time all thanks to McCullough’s heroics in the last canto. The former Washington Wizard went on to produce a personal 11-to-nothing run to re-extend their lead to 16, 88-72, following a three-pointer with only 4:23 remaining in the game, and this was all Strong Group needed to avoid disaster much like their first outing. This win, in turn, also spoiled the stellar performances of Harat Mohammed and Marvelle Harris, as the duo led Al Nasr by scoring 34 and 30 respectively after they shot a combined 9-of-15 from beyond the arc. Up next for SGA is Beirut First which they will be facing on Tuesday, January 28, at 1:00 a.m., Manila time.</div>
