Photo by Angela Davocol, NCAA Philippines.MANILA — Arellano University is finally in the win column of NCAA Season 101, zooming past San Sebastian College, 82-66, on Tuesday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan. “‘Di ako binigo ng players,” hailed Chiefs head coach Chico Manabat, whose squad improved to 1-1 in Group A.  “At tyinaga talaga ‘to ng mga bata, trinabaho throughout the preseason.” Renzo Abiera was the main man for the Chiefs, tallying a game-high 19 points on 8-of-8 shooting from the field. Also solid were King Vinoya and Andjord Cabotaje who listed 15 markers each.</div>With the score at 41-36 late in the second quarter, Arellano pulled away between frames with an 11-2 run to take a 52-38 lead. And while TJ Felebrico capped a late San Sebastian charge in the same frame to bring his squad within single digits, 65-57, Arellano made another run in the last period, 13-3, that allowed them to lead by as much as 19 before sealing the win. Ian Cuajao and Christian Ricio led the Golden Stags with 12 markers each, while rookie Jhuniel Dela Rama impressed with a 10-point, 11-rebound outing in their second loss in as many games. The scores: Arellano 82 – Abiera 19, Vinoya 15, Cabotaje 15, Valencia 8, Geronimo 8, Libang 5, Borromeo 4, Hernal 3, Langit 3, Camay 1, Buenaventura 1, Anama 0, Miller 0, Demetria 0, Espiritu 0. San Sebastian 66 – Cuajao 12, Ricio 12, Dela Rama 10, Felebrico 8, Lumanag 8, Gabat 7, Are 5, Nepacena 2, Dimaunahan 2, Castor 0, Cabilla 0, Gomez de Liaño 0, Velasco 0. Quarterscores: 23-22, 48-36, 65-57, 82-66.
