UAAP Media</div>MANILA -- University of Santo Tomas weathered the absence of head coach Haydee Ong to defeat the Ateneo Blue Eagles, 92-79, and claim a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final 4 of the UAAP Season 88 women&#x27;s basketball tournament on Saturday night at the Araneta Coliseum.Ong is <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/basketball/2025/11/13/uaap-ust-coach-haydee-ong-suspended-for-one-game-1835">serving a one-game suspension</a> after accumulating two technical fouls, with lead assistant Sen Dysangco stepping in for the champion coach.The Growling Tigers barely missed a beat in Ong&#x27;s absence, with Karylle Sierba, Agatha Bron, and Brigette Santos leading the way as they extended their perfect record to 12 games and ensured that they will have a twice-to-beat edge in the semifinals.The win also served as UST&#x27;s warm-up to their highly-anticipated rematch against National University. However, the Growling Tigresses effectively sealed their 12th consecutive win as a Kent Pastrana triple and an Eka Soriano inside basket restored an insurmountable 90-77 cushion with 2:45 left.Sierba powered UST with 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting, adding three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Bron scored 12 of her 15 points in the second half, along with two rebounds and two steals, while Santos contributed 15 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals.Pastrana was limited to 11 points on 3-of-11 shooting but still contributed nine assists, four rebounds, and three steals.
