PBA Images</div>MANILA – After booking the first spot in the semifinals of the PBA Philippine Cup, the San Miguel Beermen are approaching the next round with a clean slate and fresh mindset.The Beermen advanced to the semis after moving past the NLEX Road Warriors, 101-94, on Thursday at the Araneta Coliseum. This also marked 10th straight win of the defending champions after starting out the conference with two losses.San Miguel big man June Mar Fajardo was key to the Beermen&#x27;s victory over the Road Warriors, putting up a double-double of 26 points, 23 rebounds, and six assists.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/basketball/2025/12/25/pba-san-miguel-ousts-nlex-advances-to-semis-2001">READ: PBA: San Miguel ousts NLEX, advances to semis</a></div>Despite going perfect in a 10-game run and a semis ticket, Fajardo said they are putting this in the past as they prepare for their next matchup.&quot;Ano &#x27;to, parang confidence booster sa amin nanalo kami ng ten straight. Pero tapos na &#x27;yung elimination... wala na &#x27;yun,&quot; Fajardo said during the postgame press conference.&quot;Pagdating sa semis... So back to zero na &#x27;yun. Pero &#x27;yun, kailangan &#x27;di kami maging kampante kasi gusto namin pumasok sa finals. Pero alam naman namin na hindi gano&#x27;n kadali yun. Kailangan namin pagtrabahuhan &#x27;yun,&quot; he added.As for San Miguel head coach Leo Austria, he credited the team&#x27;s win against NLEX to their championship experience. However, he added they will go back to square one for the semis, where they will face either Barangay Ginebra or the Converge FiberXers.&quot;Either team, it&#x27;s really hard, although we beat them at the elimination, but semifinals is a different ball game,&quot; he said.&quot;So we will program with how to practice well. Because Ginebra and Converge, for me, is really a contender in this tournament. And there&#x27;s a lot of good players both teams. And then makikita natin na talagang &#x27;yung lineup nila, it&#x27;s really a formidable lineup. And they&#x27;re capable to win a championship,&quot; Austria shared.For now, the team will celebrate the rest of the holiday season before getting back to work on the court.&quot;In our case, we have to work hard and prepare hard para dito sa incoming semifinals namin,&quot; Austria said.
