<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1749052582483IMG_0237.jpeg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" alt="Kevin Quiambao (right) and Filipino toy artist Quiccs (left) showcasing the Adidas Adizero Select 3.0 ‘KQ63.’ Photo by Rom Anzures, ABS-CBN News."/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Kevin Quiambao (right) and Filipino toy artist Quiccs (left) showcasing the Adidas Adizero Select 3.0 ‘KQ63.’ <em>Photo by Rom Anzures, ABS-CBN News.</em></span></span></span>MANILA — Kevin Quiambao made history with Adidas as they released the brand’s first-ever Player Edition footwear for a Filipino athlete.</div><p>Inspired by the 6-foot-6, Muntinlupa native’s vision for Philippine basketball, the shoe brand released the KQ63, Quiambao’s own edition of the Adizero Select 3.0.</p><p>“Personally, super laking boost niya sa akin,” said the De La Salle University product on Wednesday during his shoes’ pre-launch party in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.</p><p>“Hopefully, marami pa kaming collaboration na in the works,” the two-time UAAP MVP added.</p><div>The shoe boasts a neon pink colorway which was designed by Filipino toy artist Quiccs who has worked on other shoes and apparel in collaboration with the German brand.<br/><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1749052759682IMG_7121.jpeg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" alt="The Adidas Adizero Select 3.0 ‘KQ63.’ Photo from Facebook/Adidas."/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">The Adidas Adizero Select 3.0 ‘KQ63.’ <em>Photo from Facebook/Adidas. </em></span></span></span>“We all know that he’s a generational talent, so nakakataba ng puso to work with Kevin Quiambao,” said Quiccs, whose real name is Juanito Maiquez.</div><p>“Yung naging request niya was to make it neon pink. That’s his favorite color, and I don’t want to take the words out of KQ’s mouth, but he said that it represents the bright future of the Filipino youth,” he added.</p><p>Quiambao is currently working on his game by playing for the Goyang Sono Skygunners in the Korean Basketball League (KBL), and this is a part of his overall goal of making it into the NBA.</p><p>“I’m very happy na meron kaming ganito, gumawa kami ng history ni Kuya Quiccs,” said the one-time UAAP Champion. “For me, trying to get to the NBA as the first Filipino-blooded, it’s a huge boost for me. Hopefully, ‘di ito yung last.”</p><p>However, aside from the said NBA dream, the shoe is also a testament to how Quiambao wants to take part in elevating the sport in his homeland.</p><p>“Kevin Quiambao puts a lot of importance in inspiring the youth,” pointed out Quiccs.</p><p>“Besides the professional leagues, he loves playing sa minor leagues and sa streets because he wants to inspire the young basketball players to become like him, na there’s a global stage waiting for them if they play well,” he added.</p><p>The Adizero 3.0 Select “KQ63” will be up for general release on June 12, Philippine Independence Day.</p><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO:</strong></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/evFyn9beOjM?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span></div>
