PBA Media</div>MANILA (UPDATED) — The San Miguel Beermen successfully defended the PBA Philippine Cup title, further cementing their status as the league&#x27;s most decorated franchise.Leo Austria and his wards captured their 12th All-Filipino crown in Asia&#x27;s first-ever pay-for-play league after overpowering the TNT Tropang 5G in Game 6 of the Season 50 Finals, 92-77, in front of 14,201 fans on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.The Beermen&#x27;s back-to-back All-Filipino triumph over the Tropang 5G also allowed them to secure their 31st championship overall in league history, and leading them anew was San Miguel superstar June Mar Fajardo.The 6-foot-10 behemoth from Cebu towered over everyone with a dominant 29-point, 23-rebound performance to go along with two assists, two steals, and a block, earning him the Finals Most Valuable Player honor and making him the first-ever recipient of the newly-minted Ramon Fernandez Trophy.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/basketball/2026/2/2/pba-fajardo-honored-to-be-first-ever-recipient-of-ramon-fernandez-trophy-0001">READ: Fajardo honored to be first-ever recipient of Ramon Fernandez Finals MVP Trophy</a></div>&quot;Masayang-masaya na nakuha namin itong championship,&quot; said Fajardo, who averaged 19.7 points, 18.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and one block across the six-game Finals series.&quot;Matamis &#x27;to kasi pinaghirapan namin nang husto. PBA Media</div>San Miguel set the tone early, erupting for a 26-to-5 surge after opening the game with 12 straight unanswered points to seize firm control after the first quarter.Calvin Oftana, however, caught fire, pouring in 14 straight points to breathe life into the Tropang 5G offense, which — along with a Glenn Khobuntin basket — trimmed their disadvantage to 26-21 and kept TNT within striking distance as the game wore on.TNT even briefly grabbed a 68–66 lead on a Jordan Heading three-pointer with 1:58 left in the third quarter, but San Miguel responded with 10 unanswered points in between the final two periods to regain control, 76-68.Though the Tropang 5G still stayed within range — cutting their  deficit to five, 78–73, on a Poy Erram layup with 6:08 remaining — Fajardo, Lassiter, Perez, and Ross took turns sealing the win.San Miguel stretched its lead back to 17, 92-75, capped by an and-one play by Perez with a minute and 17 seconds left, effectively sealing the title. For TNT, Oftana finished with 28 points on 6-of-9 shooting from three-point range, while Heading added 13 points on three triples, and Erram contributed 11 markers and five rebounds off the bench.However, the Tropang 5G&#x27;s slow start proved too much to overcome, while their 16 turnovers and a 25-of-66 shooting clip from the field (37.9%) ultimately derailed their bid to stay alive.<div> </div><div>The Scores:</div>San Miguel 92 – Fajardo 29, Perez 19, Brondial 15, Lassiter 13, Ross 9, Trollano 4, Tautuaa 3, Rosales 0, Cruz 0.TNT 77 – Oftana 28, Heading 14, Erram 11, Williams 6, Galinato 6, Khobuntin 4, Ganuelas-Rosser 3, Enciso 3, Nambatac 2, Nieto 0.Quarterscores: 26-10, 49-39, 70-68, 92-77.<div> </div><div style="line-height:1.5"> </div>
