FIBA Media</div>MANILA – The Gilas Pilipinas Women&#x27;s team is headed to the finals of the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup for the first time in history. Gilas Women escaped Japan, 21-19, in the semifinals at the OCBC Square in Singapore on Sunday.  The Philippines was down three points in the last two minutes, 16-19, after Japan unleashed three two-pointers to pull ahead. Two-time UAAP MVP Kacey Dela Rosa powered the Gilas offense early in the match, capped off by the go-ahead basket to move Gilas to within one possession, 17-19. Cheska Apag buried a shot from deep to level the score at 19-all, giving Gilas a chance at the podium.  Gilas veteran Afril Bernardino and Dela Rosa closed out the match with back-to-back baskets, bringing the Philippines to its first-ever finals appearance. &quot;We have two weeks of preparation going here and playing with each other is worth it. To all the people supporting us, cheering us, we&#x27;re so blessed,&quot; Bernardino said in the post-game interview. &quot;Of course we&#x27;re doing this for all the Filipino ballers. We&#x27;re so proud to represent [the Philippines],&quot; she added. The win also avenges the 21-9 loss of the Philippines to Japan in the 2025 edition of the continental tournament. Dela Rosa led the scoring with 10 points and 5 rebounds, while Bernardino had 5 markers and 6 rebounds.  Mikka Cacho added 4 points, while Apag had 2 markers -- including the crucial basket to tie the game. Gilas Women will take on defending champions Australia in the finals set for 8:40 p.m.
