<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1779778031550AJG_7726.jpeg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/>San Beda University’s Daniel Marclo (#16). Photo from 19th FilOil Preseason Cup.MANILA — Another gunner has entered the Red Lions’ den, with Daniel Marcelo finally set to become eligible for San Beda University in NCAA Season 102.</div>The 5-foot-11 Filipino-Canadian guard is set to be unleashed after completing his residency year, and Marcelo has since been familiarizing himself with the style of play in the grand old league after starring for Centro Escolar University (CEU) in the University and Colleges Athletic League (UCAL).“Everyone is more skilled and physical, but I’m just adjusting to the style of play in the NCAA,” said Marcelo, who got his first taste of NCAA action in the 19th FilOil Preseason Cup.Marcelo’s journey to Mendiola has been bumpy, to say the least.After making a name for himself with the CEU Scorpions, he previously committed to transfer to Colegio de San Juan de Letran and was originally set to suit up for the Knights in Season 101.However, Marcelo had a change of heart and instead opted to continue his collegiate career with the Knights’ rivals, saying it was with the Red Lions where he believes he can fully realize his potential.“At first, there was a little bit of struggle getting to know my teammates, but since then, it has been a much easier adjustment,” said Marcelo.And while he is expected to be thrown immediately into the fire — with the fiery guard eyed to help fill the void left by Janti Miller and Bryan Sajonia — Marcelo is ready to take on the challenge.“It’s next man up. A lot of guys have left, but it’s all about who is still here,” he said.
