<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1778288714466IMG_0906.jpeg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/>Penn State-bound Andy Gemao suiting up for University of the Philippines in the 2026 AsiaBasket National Student Athletes Championship (NSAC). AsiaBasket/Facebook.MANILA — There is nowhere to go but up for US NCAA Division I-bound Andy Gemao, as the high-flying guard committed to Pennsylvania State University on Saturday morning.</div>The 6-foot-1 Gemao revealed late Friday evening that he had <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DYFOXN4kkZX/?img_index=1">received his first US NCAA Division I offer</a>, before <a class="fr-strong fr-green" href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DYFyHldpIdV/">officially announcing his commitment</a> just hours later to become the latest Nittany Lion under head coach Mike Rhoades.Gemao is expected to help a Penn State squad looking to bounce back from its 2025-26 campaign after finishing with just 12 wins in 32 games.The 19-year-old previously played for Royal Crown Prep in Toronto, Canada, as he pursued overseas opportunities after first making a name for himself at Colegio de San Juan de Letran in NCAA Season 98.During his stint with the Letran Squires, Gemao spearheaded a campaign in which the team lost only once in 11 games, including a Finals sweep of La Salle Green Hills. He capped off the historic run by earning Finals MVP honors.Since then, Gemao has traveled back and forth between North America and the Philippines, making appearances in the National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) and suiting up for tUniversity of the Philippines in various preseason tournaments, most recently in the 2026 AsiaBasket National Student Athletes Championship (NSAC).
