PBA Images."/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">TNT Tropang 5G’s Roger Pogoy (#16) and Calvin Oftana (#8) vs. Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in Game 3 of the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup Finals. <em>PBA Images.</em></span></span></span>MANILA — It was Roger Pogoy’s turn to shine for TNT Tropang 5G as Calvin Oftana had an off night, and for Barangay Ginebra San Miguel head coach Tim Cone, that was to be expected given the prowess of the two scorers.</div><p>“It’s pick your poison with that team,” said Cone after the Gin Kings’ <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/basketball/2026/6/7/pba-brownlee-takes-charge-as-ginebra-avoids-collapse-takes-2-1-lead-vs-tnt-2206">116-102 Game 3 victory</a> in the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup Finals on Sunday.</p><p>Pogoy powered TNT with 28 points on seven three-pointers, tied for the fourth-most triples made in a PBA Finals game according to PBA chief statistician Fidel Mangonon III.</p><p>It was also the Cebuano guard’s fourth game with at least seven triples, and his shooting helped the Tropang 5G trim a 22-point deficit to just eight, 94-86, before RJ Abarrientos, Stephen Holt, and Justin Brownlee shut the door on them.</p><p>Still, it was a much-needed performance from Pogoy, especially after Ginebra’s defense limited Oftana to just two points on 1-of-8 shooting after he torched the Gin Kings for 31 points in TNT’s 101-94 Game 2 win last Friday.</p><p>Cone, however, acknowledged that containing both scorers at the same time is easier said than done, which is why the Gin Kings continue to rely on team defense while focusing on whoever has the hot hand for TNT.</p><p>“It’s hard to get two committed defenders to play against Pogoy and Oftana,” said Cone. “Scottie [Thompson] tries, but he’s a little undersized.
