MANILA -- Phenom Bluefire escaped with a slim 66-62 win over hometown bet University of Cebu to claim the crown in the Sinag Liga Asya (SLA) Junior World Showcase 23-Under Championships at the Cebu Coliseum on Sunday.After leading the way for Phenom Bluefire throughout the five-day tournament, defensive ace Santi Romero and Finals MVP Mark Sarza were both named to the Mythical Five.Sarza had a 15-point, 16-rebound double-double in the championship game, while also making crucial plays down the stretch to hold off the Webmasters.Meanwhile, the 6-foot-3 Romero anchored his team&#x27;s defensive efforts, embracing the challenge of limiting some of the event&#x27;s top international players. Romero had previously played for La Salle Greenhills and is now a part of De La Salle University&#x27;s training pool.The Sinag Liga Asya Junior World Showcase 2026 featured 50 teams, with nearly 1000 players from the Philippines, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe showcasing their skills.
