Photo from AsiaBasket.MANILA — Francis Lopez and Fighting Eagles Nagoya outlasted University of Santo Tomas (UST), 92-91, in a thrilling finals showdown to rule the AsiaBasket NSAC World Invitational 2026 on Sunday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.</div>The former University of the Philippines forward, who was hailed as Finals MVP,  delivered 22 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and a block as Nagoya held off the Growling Tigers’ late rally to complete a sweep of the tournament.Mythical Five member Tres Tinkle led all scorers with 24 points, along with two rebounds and two assists, while Nelson Phillips added 16 points, five rebounds, and two assists.For UST, tournament MVP and fellow Mythical Five member Collins Akowe posted 20 points, 12 rebounds, and two assists, but the Tigers could not hold on after taking an 11-point lead earlier in the game.Landyn Jumawan fueled UST’s comeback with 20 points on 5-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc, while Amiel Acido added 18 points, eight assists, and two rebounds.<div>Rounding out the Mythical Five alongside Tinkle and Akowe were Jose Rizal University’s (JRU) Lawrence Mangubat, Tenri University’s Jeremiah Williams, and Justin Hawkins of the Formosa Tiger Kings.<img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1786938256793IMG_1659.jpeg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/>San Beda University against Jose Rizal University. AsiaBasket.Meanwhile, San Beda University edged JRU, 70-69, to secure the bronze medal in the battle for third.</div>Aldous Torculas led the Red Lions with 15 points, four rebounds, and two assists as they bounced back from their Finals loss to the Heavy Bombers in the 19th FilOil Preseason Cup last July.Jimmy Reyes added 12 points, four assists, and two rebounds for San Beda, which held on after building a 10-point lead earlier in the game.JRU settled for fourth place despite 18 points and five rebounds from Sanlea Peñaverde.Sean Salvador added 16 points on four three-pointers, while Jalen Garcia finished with 10 points.
