UAAP Media.MANILA — The Heavy Bombers continued to reload as EJ Gollena made his Jose Rizal University debut after leaving De La Salle University.</div>The 6-foot-3 forward finished with 10 points, two rebounds, and a steal as JRU defeated Manila Central University, 73-59, to advance to the Elite Eight of the 2026 PinoyLiga-The Big Dance on Wednesday at the Emilio Aguinaldo Gym in Manila.Jose Rizal U will face St. Clare College in the quarterfinals.Gollena, however, will have to serve a year of residency before becoming eligible to play in the NCAA, starting in Season 103 in 2027.The 23-year-old previously helped La Salle clinch the UAAP Season 88 men’s basketball crown, averaging 5.3 points and 2.7 rebounds. He also saw action in the 2026 FilOil Preseason Cup before exiting the Green Archers program.Gollena is the latest Lasallian to transfer to JRU, joining Rhyle Melencio and Ethan Alian as the newest additions to the Heavy Bombers.
