<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/175666267323720250901-vctpacific-prx-rrq-MQD25935-MD.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Paper Rex lifts the VCT Pacific Stage 2 trophy before a majority Japanese audience in Chiba, Japan on August 31, 2025. <em>Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News </em></span></span></span></div><p>CHIBA, Japan -- Paper Rex continued their winning ways during the finals weekend of the VCT Pacific Stage 2 by bringing back the regional championship title to the Singapore-based organization.</p><p>The W Gaming squad defeated Stage 1 champions RRQ at 3-1 before a majority Japanese audience in Chiba, Japan, the first VCT Pacific event that was held outside the regional league&#x27;s home base of South Korea.</p><p>Prior to the grand finals, RRQ defeated fellow Southeast Asian squad Talon Esports during the lower bracket finals after being down by 2 maps and rallied back with three of their own to complete the reverse sweep. </p><p>But as RRQ faced PRX the following day under the LED-filled full house at LaLa Arena, the Indonesian-based squad could only play catch-up to the VALORANT Masters Toronto champions for most of the maps with first half scorelines going 9-3 in Bind, 11-1 in Ascent, and 8-4 in Haven.</p><p>RRQ managed to improve their scores by the second half but was too late to make the comeback as PRX closed out their maps at scores 13-8, 13-7, and 13-7. Only in Lotus they were able to take control after a deadlock in the first half and then went seven straight rounds to deny the sweep at 6-13.</p><p>The win for PRX marks their second trophy in the regional league, the first during the inaugural year in 2023, and the second title they have won so far this year after <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/esports/2025/6/23/paper-rex-uncrowned-kings-no-more-after-taking-valorant-masters-toronto-crown-1344">winning the VALORANT Masters Toronto</a> last June. </p><p>PRX also gets the advantage of bypassing the Swiss stage of VALORANT Champions Paris and getting a playoff bye along with the Stage 2 champions of VCT Americas, EMEA, and China. </p><p>With Talon&#x27;s loss during the lower bracket finals, Korean squad DRX completed the cast of Pacific reps for Champions Paris based on championship points and will join PRX, <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/esports/2025/3/3/valorant-t1-crowned-masters-bangkok-champs-in-full-series-triple-overtime-1223">Masters Bangkok champs T1</a>, and RRQ to fly out for the grandest VCT stage.</p><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/iXnqpZkQ1i0?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/x9yLAnaPIqU?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
