Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">A team from FIFA inspected the PhilSports Arena on Wednesday, a site designated for the upcoming Futsal Women&#x27;s World Cup in the Philippines. <em>Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — A team from FIFA inspected the PhilSports Arena on Wednesday, a venue designated for the inaugural Philippines-hosted Futsal Women&#x27;s World Cup. </p><p>Led by Director of FIFA tournaments Jaime Yarza, the team assessed the facilities inside and around the Pasig stadium.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/2024/5/16/ph-to-host-fifa-futsal-women-s-world-cup-in-2025-1417"><strong>READ: PH to host FIFA Futsal Women&#x27;s World Cup in 2025<br/></strong></a></div><p>Asked about his judgment following an almost two-hour tour of the arena, Yarza said &quot;there is a lot of work to do&quot; but he&#x27;s confident that the local organizing committee will work on for it to be a World Cup-level site.</p><p>PhilSports Arena also hosted the AFF Women&#x27;s Futsal Championship last year, from November 16 to 21.</p><p>&quot;Obviously there is a lot of work to do to adapt to the World Cup, but we are already confident that it&#x27;s gonna be a fantastic venue to host the final of this new tournament,&quot; Yarza said.</p><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib fr-fil" style="width:900px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/173934816881120250212-fifa-futsal-inspection-MD-6272.jpg" style="width:900px" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-fil"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">FIFA staff inspecting PhilSports Arena on Wednesday as part of preparations for the Women&#x27;s Futsal World Cup. <em>Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span></div><p>The indoor sporting arena in Pasig has a capacity of 10,000.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/2024/6/14/fifa-pff-prep-for-futsal-women-s-world-cup-2013"><strong>READ: FIFA, PFF prep for Futsal Women&#x27;s World Cup<br/></strong></a></div><p>FIFA also checked the Victorias City Coliseum, another approved site in Negros Occidental, which could host 8,000 people.</p><p>&quot;They really want to make it happen in Negros Island, in Victoria City. And with the support of the government, I think it&#x27;s going to be a great venue, also Negros. So we are very happy with what we have seen there,&quot; he said.</p><p>Yarza shared how they are working with the local governments in Metro Manila and in Victorias City — together with the local organizing committee — as they ramp up the preparations for the international occasion.</p><p>&quot;We have a very good relationship with the [Philippine Football] Federation and we are working very well with them. They are building a very professional team, which is very, very important.
