<p>Philippine boxing fans on Sunday hoped for a rematch after Manny Pacquiao fell short of becoming the oldest welterweight champion when he failed to beat WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios after a majority draw decision.</p><p>Hundreds of fans crowded a gymnasium in Manila to watch the fight on a large monitor, hoping to see the former Philippine senator triumph against the American boxer.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/othersports/2025/7/20/in-comeback-pacquiao-battles-barrios-to-majority-draw-1223">READ: In boxing comeback, inspired Pacquiao battles Barrios to majority draw</a></div><p>Jerwin Caballero, 33, brought his son to watch the match and hoped for a rematch after seeing the 46-year-old Filipino former world champion still able to fight well.</p><p>Pacquiao and 30-year-old Barrios fought to a majority draw at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, with one judge giving Barrios a 115-113 win and the other two judges scoring it a 114-114 draw. The result allowed Barrios (29-2-2, 18 KOs) to retain his WBC welterweight belt.</p><p>Pacquiao (62-8-3, 39 KOs) already holds the record for the oldest welterweight champion, winning the belt via split-decision over Keith Thurman in 2019.
