<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:958px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1755165966495IMG_3566.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">At the &#x27;media launch&#x27; of the FIG Junior World Championships 2025, August 14, 2025 at the Newport World Resorts in Pasay City. <em>Kennedy Caacbay, ABS-CBN News </em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — Filipino junior gymnasts Eldrew Yulo and Elisabeth Antone will try to make the home crowd proud as they participate in the FIG Junior World Championships 2025, scheduled for November 20 to 24 at the Manila Marriott Hotel inside the Newport World Resorts in Pasay City.</p><p>The two young athletes are currently training overseas in preparation for the world championships.</p><p>However, when asked whether more Filipinos will be fielded in the sporting event, Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) chief Cynthia Carrion said it will be only the two of them.</p><p>The Junior World Championships saw a &quot;media launch&quot; on Thursday, attended by Philippine Sports Commission chairman Patrick “Pato” Gregorio, PSC commissioner Edward Hayco, and FIG executives Andrew Tombs and Donatella Sacchi, as well as officials from Men&#x27;s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) and Women&#x27;s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG).</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/othersports/2025/7/15/eldrew-yulo-now-training-in-japan-in-hopes-of-making-it-to-olympics-1524"><strong>READ: Eldrew Yulo now training in Japan in hopes of making it to Olympics</strong></a></div><p>&quot;I can only take two, one man and one woman,&quot; answered Carrion regarding the finality of the number of Pinoy athletes for the world championships.</p><p>&quot;Because we did not attend the Turkey, so we cannot have more than one man and one woman,&quot; she added, referring to the second edition of the tournament in Antalya, Turkey.</p><p>&quot;Eldrew [Yulo] and Elisabeth Antone—both of them are in abroad. She&#x27;s [Elisabeth] training in the US and he&#x27;s [Eldrew] training in Japan,&quot; Carrion said.</p><p>Carrion asked the public to cheer for them as fellow &quot;aspiring Carlos Yulos and Simone Biles&quot; will also take centerstage in the GAP-organized event and sanctioned by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), drawing more than an expected total of 2,000 visitors from 93 countries.</p><p>&quot;Cheer for them [Eldrew Yulo and Elisabeth Antone] when you see them,&quot; she said.</p><p>Carrion also bared how the two junior gymnasts qualified, citing their recent achievements and stellar outputs from evaluations.</p><p>Yulo previously won silver in the vault event of the Asian Junior Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Jecheon, South Korea, while Antone took the bronze in the all-around apparatus of the Korean tilt.</p><p>&quot;He&#x27;s our best, Eldrew. We have an evaluation.
