<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:958px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1756016922888IMG_3699.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">During the media launch of Philippine Marathon Majors 2026 in Taguig. <em>Kennedy Caacbay, ABS-CBN News </em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — The running craze in the country continues, with the Philippine Marathon Majors about to take place next year.</p><p>It promises a top-tier platform for runners, scheduled to occur throughout popular cities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.</p><p>The PMM was recently unveiled in a media launch by race event organization RUNRIO and insurance company Singlife Philippines in Taguig.</p><p>Five races will be supported by Singlife, with SM Supermalls serving as presentor and supported by the Department of Tourism (DOT): the Iloilo Marathon (July 12), the Davao Marathon (August 15), the One Clark International Marathon (September 20), Cagayan de Oro Marathon (December 13).</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/othersports/2025/8/19/tara-sa-north-one-piece-run-set-for-september-in-sm-fairview-2038"><strong>READ: Tara sa North! One Piece Run set for September in SM Fairview<br/></strong></a></div><p>Rounding out the PMM line-up are the Ayala Philippine Marathon 2026 (February 22), the Galaxy Manila Marathon (June 7), and the Trilogy Run Asia National Finals (November 8).</p><p>All these races will be sanctioned by World Athletics and the Association of International Marathons (AIMS) and will be supervised by the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATAFA).</p><p>According to running coach Rio de la Cruz, founder of RUNRIO, they have been planning this for a decade now—and he believes the time has come for country-based marathon majors.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/othersports/2025/8/20/it-s-never-too-late-to-start-your-running-journey-says-runrio-founder-2036"><strong>READ: It&#x27;s never too late to start your running journey, says RUNRIO founder<br/></strong></a></div><p>&quot;Actually, since 2015, nagpe-prepare na kami for this... we truly believe that our running community is now ready for marathon races, because of the run clubs, &#x27;yung preparations nila ay scientific na,&quot; de la Cruz expressed.</p><p>&quot;Kaya confident kami na kahit multiple races &#x27;to, magagawa nila &#x27;yan.&quot;</p><p>De la Cruz added that runners who aspire to be national athletes can make these marathons an avenue to showcase their talents, as these could serve as &quot;trials&quot; for the Philippine team.</p><p>&quot;Parang ito &#x27;yung magiging trials ng Philippines for prospects na maging national athletes.
