MANILA – When 17-year-old alpine skier Tallulah Proulx isn&#x27;t hitting the slopes, she&#x27;s living her best life as a K-pop stan.  As she is set to make history as the youngest and first Filipina Winter Olympian, Proulx said her hobbies -- like her love for K-pop and support system -- help keep her grounded. <div><a class="fr-strong fr-green" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/othersports/2026/1/21/tallulah-proulx-17-is-youngest-pinoy-to-qualify-for-winter-olympics-1535">READ: 17-year-old Tallulah Proulx aims to raise more awareness in Winter Olympics debut</a></div>&quot;I think it really comes down to the community, my supportive coaches, my family, of course, my teammates and my friends always uplift each other every day. And then also besides that, I think that I have I also have other interests and other things that keep me grounded,&quot; she told ABS-CBN News ahead of the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.Proulx shared she is a huge fan of K-pop groups like Red Velvet, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, BTS and RIIZE. She even went to see TOMORROW X TOGETHER live in concert, when they were on tour in the United States.Proulx also stopped by Frankfurt, Germany to catch the concert of SHINee member Taemin after the World Junior Alpine Skiing Championships last March 2025. &quot;I&#x27;ve loved K-pop since I was in sixth grade or something, but I really love it. And I know Filipinos love it too. But I come back home and if I&#x27;m having a hard day, I just put on my headphones. I listen to some of my favorite songs,&quot; she said. &quot;Or just also I feel like there&#x27;s such a good community with K-pop, like my friends that like K-pop, we always support each other. I think just having another outlet of joy really just helps me in all aspects of life, including in my competitions,&quot; the 17-year-old shared. Aside from skiing and K-pop, Proulx said she has been playing the violin for 15 years and she loves crocheting during her downtime. &quot;Just like having other hobbies, keeping myself like with a positive mindset, I would say I&#x27;m a very positive person. And so that like comes kind of naturally to me, but also having hobbies and interests that excite me,&quot; she said. &quot;And like being able to, oh, maybe today the training wasn&#x27;t like I didn&#x27;t perform my best. My father&#x27;s family is from Eastern Samar in the Visayas. Yeah. And so I have a lot of family back there. And they&#x27;ve been so supportive, especially recently, of course,&quot; she said. &quot;Also, I have my Filipina grandma. Actually, she passed away, unfortunately, last spring. But I was always, of course, connected with her. And she introduced me to all of the Filipino foods. Of course, lumpia is my favorite, but I love pancit and so many other dishes that she introduced me to,&quot; Proulx shared. The 17-year-old said having Filipino friends in her old school and community helped her connect with her roots and learn more about culture and traditions. Proulx is now heading to Italy to finally see her childhood dream come to life, carrying along with her the pride of representing the Philippines. The Filipino-American skier will compete in the giant slalom and slalom events, alongside Filipino-Italian Francis Ceccarelli in the Winter Games.The 2026 Winter Olympics will run from February 6 to 22 in Milan and Cortina d&#x27;Ampezzo in Italy.
