Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News/File</div>INDIAN WELLS, California -- Filipina tennis star Alex Eala is preparing for another tough challenge after advancing to the fourth round of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.Eala&#x27;s next opponent is rising star Linda Noskova from the Czech Republic -- another young player who is quickly making a name for herself on the WTA Tour. Noskova is currently ranked 14th in the world but has gone as high as No. 12 in her career. She also won her first WTA title at the 2024 Monterey Open.  Even before reaching the professional ranks, Noskova had already built an impressive resume. In 2021, she won the girls&#x27; singles title at the French Open and got up to #5 in the junior world rankings. But the matchup between Eala and Noskova carries a deeper history. The two previously faced each other as young juniors during the 2018 Les Petits As tournament in France, one of the most prestigious junior events in the sport. In that encounter, Eala defeated Noskova in a tight three-set final, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6, when the Filipina star was just 12 years old.Now, years later, the two rising talents are set to meet again, this time on one of tennis&#x27; biggest stages.During practice at Indian Wells, Eala worked on every aspect of her game, including serves, service returns, baseline rallies and volleys, as fans gathered around Practice Court No. 1 to watch the Filipina star prepare. After her session, Eala spent time signing autographs for supporters, many of them Filipino fans, but also a growing number of international spectators who have begun following her run in the tournament. Eala earlier acknowledged that facing Noskova will be a major test. &quot;She&#x27;s a really strong player and she has a big game,&quot; Eala said in an earlier interview. &quot;I&#x27;ll just try to focus on my game and compete the best I can.&quot; Expectations are high for the matchup, with organizers anticipating another massive crowd at Stadium 1 in Indian Wells for the highly anticipated fourth-round clash. For Eala, the match represents not only another step in the tournament, but also the continuation of a rivalry that began years ago in junior tennis.
