Another honor was revealed for Manny Pacquiao during the 3rd Pacquiao-Elorde Awards Night held at Okada Manila, as it was announced that the Filipino icon is set to be inducted into the US National Boxing Hall of Fame.The announcement was made during the program by Eric Schmidt, drawing applause from attendees, as Pacquiao continues to add to his already historic legacy.Pacquiao was officially inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame Class of 2025 in June last year in Canastota, New York. As the only eight-division world champion in boxing history, he entered in the modern category alongside other greats, joining Filipino legends Gabriel Elorde and Pancho Villa as inductees.Now, Pacquiao is set to receive another prestigious honor— this time on the national stage.In a formal letter from the National Boxing Hall of Fame, Pacquiao was invited to be part of the Class of 2027 as the “Main Event” inductee.“The National Boxing Hall of Fame would like to induct you into the Class of 2027 as our ‘Main Event.’ You are the only boxer in the history of boxing to win 12 major world titles in 8 different weight divisions. You fought an amazing 22 World Champions during your career. Furthermore, your gift of helping your country is deeply admired by all,” the letter read.It further praised his legacy inside and outside the ring.“Your courage and outstanding performance in this highly demanding sport deserves all the recognition that can be given from the boxing communities. We are pleased to be able to represent those communities as we present your induction into the National Boxing Hall of Fame.”The letter also extended an invitation for Pacquiao to attend the ceremony scheduled on April 25, 2027, at Quiet Cannon in Montebello, California.The correspondence was signed by Bill Dempse.
