Filipina tennis ace Alex Eala is set for a rematch with one of the most powerful players on tour, as she takes on No. 2 seed Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan in the second of the WTA 500 Berlin Tennis Open tonight. The two met just last month at the Italian Open, where Rybakina came out on top, 6-4, 6-3. The match was on clay and closely contested.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/othersports/2026/6/17/tennis-alex-eala-ousts-vekic-advances-to-second-round-in-berlin-1915">READ: Tennis: Alex Eala ousts Vekic, advances to round-of-16 in Berlin </a></div>Tonight, the two tennis stars meet on grass where Eala has been performing in great shape.The Filipino wildcard enters the match on the back of a commanding 7-5, 6-4 win over newly-crowned Queen’s Club champion Donna Vekic. She also captured the WTA 125 Birmingham Open title, which is her first championship on grass.Rybakina, meanwhile, is no stranger to the surface either. At Queen’s Club, she reached the quarterfinals before falling to Katie Boulter.  The 27-year old Rybakina is undeniably a formidable opponent on any surface though as she carries an impressive 32-9 W-L record for 2026.The match is scheduled not before 11:30 p.m. Manila time on the Steffi Graf Stadion.
