Esther Lin, PBC photos</div>MANILA – Manny Pacquiao eyes to open more boxing and training facilities in other countries, following the opening of a brand-new gym in the United States. MP Promotions CEO Jas Mathur said the newly opened facility in Los Angeles, California will serve as the flagship gym.&quot;This is the first of many facilities. We&#x27;re planning on opening a series of them and it won&#x27;t be limited just to the United States. This first one is a flagship and of course it&#x27;s in a very prime location and it happens to be a takeover of another location before, which makes it even more interesting,&quot; Mathur said at a press conference in the MannyPay headquarters in Makati City on Monday. <div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/othersports/2026/7/14/manny-pacquiao-camp-eyeing-exhibition-fight-later-this-year-0042">READ: Manny Pacquiao camp eyeing exhibition fight later this year</a></div>Last month, Pacquiao trained in the newly opened Pacquiao Prime Boxing Gym, located in Hollywood near the Dolby Theatre. The former eight division world champion did a full workout with Marvin Somodio, who is the head trainer of the gym.  Mathur said the gym is the same where a franchise of a Mayweather Fitness was previously located. The MP Promotions executive said his role is to assist fighters, applying his years of experience and connections across the globe. &quot;The goal behind the facilities is only to help fighters build, develop and have them strengthen their careers and grow, get them more fights. That&#x27;s where a combination of Manny Pacquiao promotions, the event side comes in,&quot; Mathur shared. &quot;So, the goal is definitely going to be to help build up fighters, have a good stable, have them sign to Manny Pacquiao promotions, get them fights and get them good deals and help them build their careers,&quot; he added. Mathur explained why they chose to open the gym in Los Angeles, instead of other locations like the Philippines.  &quot;First of all, we want to focus on the Filipino community in LA. I mean you know the greater Los Angeles area, out of anywhere in the U.S., it&#x27;s pretty much the greatest. Look at the population of California, of Los Angeles. Manny has a huge fanbase in LA, Manny trains in LA for his fights in the US,&quot; the MP Promotion executive said. &quot;I live in LA. A lot of the fighters come to LA, so why not LA? Typically it&#x27;s either LA or Vegas. But LA needed this, we need this. We feel the location, having three or four million cars passing everyday it&#x27;s a no brainer,&quot; he added. Mathur said there are no specific details or a timeline yet for a possible gym opening in the Philippines. But he said &#x27;a lot of things will start happening from 2027 onwards.&#x27; What&#x27;s certain is that they target opening gyms in Vancouver and Toronto in Canada, multiple cities in the United States like New York, Miami, and Dallas, as well as the United Arab Emirates, India and Europe.   &quot;Boxing is international right? Manny is a household brand. There&#x27;s not one country that Manny is not known in, one city yet alone,&quot; Mathur said.
