George Calvelo, ABS-CBN News/File</div>MANILA -- The Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) is &quot;ready to cooperate with any legitimate inquiry&quot; regarding the staging of the 2019 SEA Games, as the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) investigates alleged irregularities. PHISGOC President and Chief Operating Officer Ramon Suzara on Wednesday said that they welcome &quot;any and all inquiries,&quot; even as he stressed that the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) has already certified the full liquidation of SEA Games funds.&quot;The 30th edition of the Southeast Asian Games were staged from November 30 to December 11, 2019, and although post-Games obligations and responsibilities were delayed by the pandemic, the PHISGOC, according to PSC Chief Accountant Erik Mayores, was fully liquidated in March 2022,&quot; Suzara said.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/15/nbi-creates-task-force-to-probe-alleged-irregularities-in-2019-sea-games-1846">READ: NBI creates task force to probe alleged irregularities in 2019 SEA Games</a></div><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/20/palace-slams-cayetano-over-p10k-ayuda-claims-sea-games-liquidation-1534">READ: Palace asks Cayetano about 2019 SEA Games liquidation</a></div>The PSC certification, dated July 20, 2026, states that the &quot;PHISGOC Foundation has submitted all (100%) of the liquidation reports covering the financial assistance granted by the PSC in connection with the hosting of the 30th SEA Games amounting to P2.082 billion.&quot;Suzara said all PHISGOC financial documents were audited by independent auditor PricewaterhouseCoopers / Isla Lipana &amp; Co.The NBI is conducting a probe into the alleged irregularities surrounding the country&#x27;s hosting of the biennial showcase, particularly regarding infrastructure projects and transactions.According to NBI Director Melvin Matibag, the bureau obtained documents that warrant a formal investigation. Among the issues they are looking into are the alleged lack of public bidding involving Hong Kong Manila and questions over unliquidated funds.Suzara is among the officials expected to be <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/17/nbi-to-subpoena-officials-over-2019-sea-games-probe-1544">subpoenaed by the NBI</a>, along with Dexter Estacio as chief financial officer, and John Lester Binsuceso as corporate secretary.The Philippines emerged as overall champion of the 2019 SEA Games, with 149 gold, 117 silver, and 121 bronze medals.Suzara insisted that the facilities constructed at New Clark City continue to benefit Filipino athletes even after the SEA Games. &quot;The NCC sports facilities was a milestone project built by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) in a record 18 months and was built in time for the Games,&quot; he said.Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/20/-malinis-ang-konsensya-natin-dizon-stands-by-2019-sea-games-projects-0912">Secretary Vince Dizon</a>, who was the BCDA president during the construction of SEA Games facilities, had already defended the infrastructure projects and expressed his readiness to cooperate, should authorities conduct further investigations.-- with reports from Zyann Ambrosio and Eon Sanchez, ABS-CBN News
