MANILA -- Padel Pilipinas is determined to make a mark when the sport debuts in the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan this September.The team, coming off its triumph in the 2026 Asia Pacific Padel Cup, is already training in Madrid, Spain.&quot;The Asian Games represents a historic opportunity for padel in the Philippines,&quot; said Jeff Cheng, President of Padel Pilipinas, in a statement.&quot;The inclusion of padel on this stage reflects the sport&#x27;s rapid growth across Asia, and we are committed to ensuring that our athletes are ready to compete against the continent&#x27;s best,&quot; he added. &quot;We hope to showcase not only the talent of our players, but also the progress the Philippines has made in developing the sport.&quot;Leading the charge for the Philippines will be team captain Argil Lance “LA” Cañizares, Jason Anthony Tamayo Lapidus, Tao Yee Tan, and Marian Jade Capadocia.&quot;We are proud of what was accomplished at APPC 2026, and now our work continues,&quot; said Padel Pilipinas Secretary General Atty. Duane Santos.&quot;The experience gained here will be invaluable as we prepare for the challenges ahead and continue striving to raise the level of padel in the Philippines.&quot;Padel Pilipinas is also developing the sport at the grassroots level and training coaches from the different parts of the country. Recently, the Padel Pilipinas Open saw junior players from Talisay City, Cebu and Taguig City competing in the amateur category.
