MANILA – Filipino youth baseball and softball players turned heads across the United States this August, as three Philippine representatives battled their way through the Little League World Series, highlighted by two bronze-medal finishes and a historic debut.Bacolod City Little League opened the country&#x27;s medal haul after securing third place in the 2026 Junior League Softball World Series in Kirkland, Washington, while Bulacan Little League followed suit by claiming the Philippines&#x27; first bronze medal in the Senior League Softball World Series in Delaware.Meanwhile, Tanauan City Little League made history by becoming the first Philippine representative in the 2026 Senior League Baseball World Series in Easley, South Carolina.The Junior League Softball World Series, which features players aged 12 to 14, ran from August 2 to 8. Bacolod entered the tournament as the Asia-Pacific representative after going 5-0 in regional play.The Philippine side continued to show its mettle against some of the world&#x27;s best young softball players before securing the bronze medal. The campaign added another podium finish to the country&#x27;s rich history in the tournament, which included a championship run by a Bago City team in 2023.Bacolod&#x27;s bronze was then matched by Bulacan in the Senior League Softball World Series, held from August 3 to 9 at the Lower Sussex Little League Complex in Delaware.Bulacan went 4-2 in pool play before reaching the medal round, where it defeated the Czech Republic, 5-1, in the battle for third place. The victory gave the Asia-Pacific region its first bronze medal in the 13-to-16 age division.While the softball teams returned home with medals, Tanauan City carried the Philippine flag into the Senior League Baseball World Series in Easley, South Carolina, from August 1 to 8.The Batangas-based squad made history as the country&#x27;s first representative in the division and finished pool play with a 1-2 record, missing out on the international championship bracket after a 1-3 defeat against Curacao.
