Photos from the Asian Weightlifting Federation</div>MANILA — Weightlifters Alexsandra Ann Diaz and Jerick Icon Castro delivered more gold medals for the Philippines at the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.Diaz, the niece of Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn, ruled the women’s 49kg youth category, topping the snatch (77kg), clean and jerk (92kg) and total (169kg) to bring home three gold medals.The gold rush continued for Diaz following her three golds at the women&#x27;s 48kg class at the 2026 IWF World Youth Championships in Cali, Colombia last May.  Chinese Taipei&#x27;s Pei-Quan Huang and Chun-Yu Lin took home the silver and bronze with 141kg and 140kg total respectively.Jerick Icon Castro of Angono, Rizal likewise delivered three gold medals in the men&#x27;s 60kg youth category.Castro ranked first in the snatch (116 kg), clean and jerk (144 kg) and total (260 kg) to add to the country&#x27;s gold medal haul.His compatriot Kirby Kent Alas-as captured two bronze medals, after lifting 110kg in snatch for a total of 243kg.Angeline Colonia clinched two silvers (173kg total, 93kg clean and jerk) and gold (80kg snatch) in the women&#x27;s 49kg junior category.  <div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/othersports/2026/8/9/bacaro-colonia-deliver-medals-to-open-ph-campaign-in-asian-weightlifting-tilt-0043">READ: Bacaro, Colonia deliver medals to open PH campaign in Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting tilt </a></div>Diaz also copped two bronze in the same category, with 169kg total and 77kg snatch.  Meantime, Prince Keil Delos Santos copped two bronze (264kg total, 144kg clean and jerk) and one gold (120kg snatch) in the men’s 60kg junior categoryOn the first day of competition, Althea Bacaro won two golds in the women&#x27;s 45kg youth category and Jay-R Colonia delivered two silver medals in the men&#x27;s 55kg youth category.
