Handout/PNVF</div>MANILA -- Alas Pilipinas&#x27; Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons will headline the 13-team women&#x27;s field in the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) Beach Volleyball Invitational.Organized by the Beach Volleyball Republic, the contest commences Saturday at Nuvali Sand Courts in the City of Santa Rosa, Laguna.There will be four Alas women&#x27;s teams in the two-day competition, which will serve as a buildup for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand next month.The Alas pairs of Alexa Polidario and Jenny Gaviola, Kly Orillaneda and Gen Eslapor, and Sunny Villapando and Dij Rodriguez are also competing.Last May, Rondina and Pons pulled off a 17-21, 21-16, 16-14 reverse sweep of Villapando and Rodriguez in an all-Alas women Final to rule the PNVF Beach Volleyball National Open.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/volleyball/2025/10/18/rondina-pons-bow-out-of-nuvali-beach-volley-tilt-after-gritty-stand-vs-swiss-pair-1443">READ: Rondina, Pons bow out of Nuvali beach volley tilt after gritty stand vs. Swiss pair</a></div>University of Santo Tomas&#x27; Sofiah Pagara and Khy Progella were last year&#x27;s champions.  In this edition, Cameron Villaruz and Lorie Gamboa will lead the Tiger Sands together with the pair of Cheng Dadang and Angelica Del Mar.National University, UST&#x27;s biggest rival in the sand, will field in Vilmarie Toos and Laiza Benigay.Ranran Abdilla and James Buytrago, who won the title last year representing Air Force, will banner three Alas teams in the men&#x27;s side.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/volleyball/2025/10/17/rondina-pons-score-breakthrough-win-in-beach-pro-tour-series-1523">READ: Rondina, Pons score breakthrough win in Beach Pro Tour series </a></div>National team stalwarts Ronniel Rosales and Rancel Varga, and Edwin Tolentino and Lerrie Francisco are also vying for the title.Also in the women&#x27;s field are Far Eastern University&#x27;s Melody Pons and Lovely Lopez, La Salle&#x27;s Ela Raagas and Mica Buis, University of the Philippines&#x27; Jum Gayo and Kryssia Mae Omos, College of Saint Benilde&#x27;s Doreen Baguio and Shandara Baba, Cebu Spikers&#x27; Liezl Dejan and Kizil Doren Quijote, and Beach Volleyball Manila&#x27;s Bea Tan and Euri Eslapor.Completing the 10-team men&#x27;s cast are the UST pairs of Aldwin Gupiteo and Lance Malinao, and Smaela Salon and Alijhan Apdian, Benilde&#x27;s Kevin Ondevilla and Mark June Rosales, La Salle&#x27;s Von Marata and Andraie Falsis, UP&#x27;s Angelo Lipata and Zedrick Calimlim, NU&#x27;s Kian Tan and Ethan Jadraque, and FEU&#x27;s Reynan Postorioso and Christian Paul Salboro.The pool play is set at 8 a.m., while the semifinal will be begin at 10 a.m. Sunday, and the medal matches are scheduled starting at 2 p.m.
