Photo from UAAP Media.</div>MANILA (UPDATED)— De La Salle University overcame University of the East to post its second straight victory in the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball tournament.The Lady Spikers retaliated from their second-frame setback to complete a 25-12, 23-25, 25-14, 25-17 win over the Lady Warriors on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.The Taft-based hitters moved up to 3-2 following this win, while UE remained winless in five contests.Angel Canino finished with 20 points on top of 10 digs and nine receptions, Jyne Soreño contributed 12 markers and seven digs, while Mikole Reyes tossed 23 excellent sets on top of six digs and three points.But despite the victory, La Salle deputy Noel Orcullo emphasized how unsatisfied they were with the manner in which they earned it due to the errors that resulted in them giving up Set 2.“Unang una, ‘di naging maganda yung resulta ng game,” he said during the postgame presser. “Although we won, ‘di yun yung gusto namin makita sa kanila.””Yung second set, nakuha ng UE. Nanalo, pero ‘di maganda yung resulta,” he added.After winning the first in dominant fashion, the Lady Spikers — who were already holding a 17-13 advantage after the second technical timeout — faltered in the second mainly due to their errors, and this allowed the Lady Warriors to tie the contest at one set apiece.Canino then acknowledged how they showed complacency in that set, which is why she wants them to avoid repeating that in their next assignments.“Kitang-kita naman po siguro yung errors namin lalo na nung second set,” said the former ROTY-MVP. “So kailangan po naming i-work on yung errors namin, and bawal mag relax.
