Angel Canino ready to wear Alas Pilipinas jersey again, no matter what her position is

<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:959px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1743587927424UAAP87 VB - --Angel Canino-8227.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">La Salle&#x27;s Angel Canino. <em>UAAP Media</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA, Philippines – Angel Canino of De La Salle University on Wednesday expressed readiness to don national colors after her name was included in a wishlist for Alas Pilipinas tryouts.</p><p>Canino and 32 others will be invited by the Philippine National Volleyball Federation for a series of tryouts to determine the composition of the women&#x27;s national volleyball team for three significant contests this year.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/volleyball/2025/3/27/33-athletes-to-be-invited-for-alas-pilipinas-women-tryouts-1632"><strong>READ: 33 athletes to be invited for Alas Pilipinas Women tryouts<br/></strong></a></div><p>The Lady Spiker said she&#x27;s prepared to contribute -- no matter what her position is on the taraflex.</p><p>Last year, she played opposite spiker position for Alas Women and was even awarded AVC Best Opposite Spiker in the Challenge Cup.</p><p>&quot;I don&#x27;t know yet pa kung talagang outside hitter ba ako or opposite sa national team, but kahit anong position naman, lagi ko sinasabi kay coach Jorge [de Brito] na ready ako na mag-perform sa kahit anong position ibigay sa akin,&quot; said Canino.</p><p>Canino is looking forward to the lessons she could absorb in the national squad as she aims to mature further in the court.</p><p>&quot;Hindi ko naman iniisip kung gusto ko ba na itong position lang; parang ino-open ko rin &#x27;yung mind ko, kasi I think the national team is a big opportunity for me talaga na maging mature sa loob ng court at maging &#x27;ako&#x27;, at mag-grow lang ako lalo kung lumabas ako sa comfort zone ko.
