Angela Davocol/NCAA Philippines. MANILA — College of Saint Benilde displayed championship poise as it opened its five-peat bid in NCAA Season 101 women’s volleyball.</div>The Blazers survived a gritty Mapua University side, 25-21, 20-25, 25-14, 23-25, 17-14, during their Friday faceoff at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila.Senior Zam Nolasco poured in 29 points on 28 attacks and a block for the Lady Blazers, who rallied from a 10-14 deficit in the fifth set to seal their first win.Prized rookie Cam Bartolome also stood out in her NCAA debut with 16 points, while Shekaina and Shahannah Lleses each scored 10 points. Benilde also capitalized on its edge in service aces, 12-3.On the other hand, Raissa Ricablanca led the Lady Cardinals with 27 points, but her efforts went for naught as Mapua failed to take advantage of their four match points in the deciding set.Alyana Ong followed with 15 markers on 11 attacks and four blocks for Mapua, and Nadine Berces chipped in 12.
