The UAAP/Facebook.MANILA — University of the East boys’ volleyball champion coach Herbert Dizon has passed away due to complications from illness, the school announced Tuesday.</div>“The UE community deeply mourns the passing of Mr. Herbert Dizon, who had been the head coach of the UE Red Warriors Boys’ Volleyball Team for UAAP Seasons 87 and 88. Coach Herbert passed away this Monday afternoon, February 16,” the university said in a post.In his two-year stint with UE, Dizon steered the Junior Warriors to the Season 88 championship after reaching the Final Four the year prior.<div style="line-height:1.5"><a class="fr-green" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/volleyball/2025/12/14/uaap-ue-ends-11-year-championship-drought-in-boys-football-2345">READ: UE ends 11-year championship drought in boys&#x27; volleyball</a></div>The title ended an 11-year drought as UE dethroned National University-Nazareth School via a sweep last December.“Talagang medyo pressured kami lalo na doon sa social media, ’di ba.
