UAAP Media.MANILA — National University (NU) arranged a finals rematch with Far Eastern University (FEU) after sweeping University of Santo Tomas (UST) in the UAAP Season 88 men’s volleyball Final Four on Wednesday.</div>The Bulldogs booked their place in the championship round for the 11th straight season following a 25-21, 30-28, 25-19 victory over the Golden Spikers at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.“Sobrang ako happy sa naging performance although syempre, yung naging problema rin ng UST, mas marami silang errors kaya nakabwelo kami,” said seven-time champion coach Dante Alinsunurin, as NU capitalized on UST’s 27 unforced errors.Buds Buddin led NU with 19 points and 18 receptions, while Jade Disquitado added 11 markers and 10 receptions.“Kailangan namin mag-rest, mag-viewing. Knowing FEU, talagang isa sila sa competitor ngayong season so kailangan talaga namin paghandaan,” said Buddin.The Bulldogs will face the Tamaraws in a best-of-three finals series, with the Jhocson-based squad seeking a sixth consecutive men’s title.On the other hand, Gboy de Vega paced bronze finisher-UST with 14 points, along with 14 receptions and six digs, while Season 88 MVP Josh Ybañez was limited to nine points, 16 receptions, and four digs.
