UAAP Media. </div>MANILA (UPDATED) — University of the Philippines rediscovered its winning form to keep its Final Four hopes alive in UAAP Season 88 women&#x27;s volleyball.The Fighting Maroons made quick work of Ateneo de Manila University, 25-20, 25-14, 25-23, in their Wednesday afternoon clash at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, securing their fifth victory in 11 outings.Leading State U was Niña Ytang, who tallied 18 points, five of which came in crunch time. Jelai Gajero added 13 markers on six kills and seven blocks, while Irah Jaboneta and Kianne Olango chipped in 12 and eight points, respectively.&quot;We have no chance to slow down; we need to prove that we are worthy,&quot; said UP head coach Fabio Menta, as the Fighting Maroons seek to end their 10-year Final Four drought. &quot;[We need to] win everything.&quot;Fortunately for Menta, his veterans came to the rescue when Ateneo threatened to extend the match in the third set by building a 23-21 lead.The Fighting Maroons remained composed, scoring four straight points, capped by Bienne Bansil&#x27;s block to reach match point, before Ytang completed the comeback with an ace. Ytang also tied the match at 23, scoring on a drop and the other of her two crucial aces.UP&#x27;s chances of entering the semifinals now hinge on its final three matches against Far Eastern University, Adamson University, and University of Santo Tomas.On the other hand, the loss was Ateneo&#x27;s 10th in 11 games. Zey Pacia and Dona de Leon each scored seven points to lead the Blue Eagles, who have now missed the Final Four for the fourth straight season.
