Cebu to host PVL, Spikers’ Turf’s grand opening of landmark 10th season

<div><br></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width: 960px; display: block;" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17884128443401788413046142.png" style="width: 960px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align: left;">PVL unveils its 10th-season logo. <em>Photo from PVL </em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA &mdash; As the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) and Spikers&rsquo; Turf celebrate their landmark 10th anniversary, the leagues will be holding their grand opening in the Queen City of the South on October 10.</p><p>It will be held at the newly opened SM Seaside Cebu Arena, featuring a triple-header of men and women&rsquo;s volleyball matches, the PVL announced Thursday.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/volleyball/2026/8/26/pvl-unveils-new-logo-to-celebrate-decade-long-journey-1837"><strong>READ: PVL unveils new logo to celebrate decade-long journey</strong></a></div><p>Choosing Cebu as the host for their opening day is due to the province&rsquo;s deep roots in relation to volleyball.</p><p>&ldquo;The decision to bring the season-opening festivities to Cebu highlights the province&rsquo;s deep volleyball roots and its continuing contribution to the development of the sport,&rdquo; the league said.</p><p>Among the prominent PVL players with Cebuano roots are Choco Mucho&rsquo;s Sisi Rondina of Compostela, Cebu; Deanna Wong of Minglanilla; and Isa Molde of Catmon. Also hailing from Cebu are Galeries Tower&rsquo;s Dimdim Pacres, Farm Fresh players Lorene Toring and Pierre Abellana, Nxled&rsquo;s Krich Macaslang and PLDT&rsquo;s Shiela Kiseo, among others.</p><p>Opening the newest season are Choco Mucho and Capital1, while Creamline and Akari will clash at 6 p.m.</p><p>A matchup between two Spikers&rsquo; Turf teams will also be held, completing the triple-header.</p><p>&ldquo;The Cebu staging is both a celebration of a decade of league-building and a statement of where Philippine volleyball is headed &ndash; beyond the traditional confines of the capital and deeper into regions where the sport continues to thrive,&rdquo; Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. said.</p>
