[Editor’s note: This story, first published on July 5, 2019 and updated today, is brought to you from our Star Cinema Archives.]

While there are bittersweet pangs that Joy (Kathryn Bernardo) and Ethan (Alden Richards) caused us when “Hello, Love, Goodbye” came out in 2019, the joyful things far outweigh the painful, and overall, there has been so much to celebrate.

One such thing to look back at with pride was the unquestionable hard work of all the people behind the film. That hard work is evident in each of these three important trivia which Star Cinema producer Leo Garcia provided us back in July 2019 via his Instagram page, from their shooting days in Hong Kong.

Back hug trivia

Joy and Ethan’s hug-from-the-back junk ride scene was actually a "test" for Kathryn and Alden, because it was a relatively light scene shot right after an intensely emotional one. And based on the photo, they clearly pulled it off! Truly professional! The excellence!

Rooftop trivia

It took 10 attempts for the production staff to scout the perfect, picturesque, and suitable location for Kathryn and Alden's rooftop shot. They even scouted buildings that didn't have an elevator, so imagine their struggle just to get that perfect shot!

‘Transformer’ scene trivia

The shot taken in Quarry Bay was also the setting for a famous international film, "Transformers: Age of Extinction" (2014), and the production took to calling that particular “Hello, Love, Goodbye” scene as the "Transformer" scene, whenever it is discussed. How cute!

"Hello, Love, Goodbye" also stars Joross Gamboa, Maymay Entrata, Kakai Bautista, Jeffrey Tam, and Lovely Abella. Helmed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, it launched in theaters nationwide on July 31, 2019. Its highly-awaited sequel, “Hello, Love, Again”, sees the continuing story of Joy and Ethan, played once more by Kathryn and Alden. “Hello, Love, Again” premieres in cinemas on November 13.
