Joshua Garcia, Julia Barretto laugh their hearts out in ‘Un/Happy For You’ first script reading

<p>Are you still buzzing with kilig over Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto’s reunion in the look test for their comeback movie “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/starcinema/articles-news/julia-barretto-joshua-garcia-to-star-as-real-to-reel-life-exes-in-comeback-movie-unhappy-for-you-22172">Un/Happy For You</a>”? If so, brace yourselves because we’ve got another preview to excite your JoshLia hearts!</p><p>Star Cinema has just dropped an exclusive sneak peek of the cast’s first script reading across its social media pages on Wednesday, June 12. It’s definitely a feast for fans who have been longing to see this beloved love team back in action.</p><p>In the special preview, lasting just one minute and 24 seconds, Joshua and Julia effortlessly slipped into their on-screen personas who are ex-lovers that cross paths once again. The way JoshLia volleyed witty banter with bittersweet undertones left viewers wanting more!</p><p>In one of their exchanges, Joshua’s character, Juancho, teased Julia’s character with a joke that ended up as a hugot-filled dialogue about his virginity.</p><p>“Babaeng tapang-tapangan pero iyakin naman,” he read, and to that, Julia responded with her character’s fiery spirit: “Lalaking probinsyanong virgin.”</p><p>“Kinuha mo virginity ko,” Joshua as Juancho retorted.</p><p>Julia, whose character is still unnamed, hushed him: “Ang lakas ng boses mo. Nasa simbahan tayo!”</p><p>Those lines alone set the tone for what promises to be an engaging and emotional rollercoaster. But it’s not all humor and playful jabs. There’s also a poignant moment that tugged at the heartstrings when Julia’s character reflected on their romantic past.</p><p>“Grabe, parang ibang lifetime na ‘yun ‘no? Ang bata pa natin n’on,” Julia uttered her lines.</p><p>As the script reading continued, a more serious subject took center stage: Juancho is clearly convinced that his ex-girlfriend cheated on him.</p><p>And if there’s one line that totally captured Juancho’s lingering feelings, it was this: “Sa dinami-dami ng naluto ko, natikman ko, ‘yung mga yakap mo, ‘yung mga labi mo, ‘yung pagmamahal mo ang pinakamasarap.”</p><p>Joshua and Julia were not the only ones who brought their A-game to the reading. Their fellow castmates Aljon Mendoza, Kaila Estrada, Nonie Buencamino, Meann Espinosa, and Bong Gonzales also filled the room with their energy.</p><p>Aljon’s comedic timing had everyone in stitches, especially when paired with Kaila’s charm. Meanwhile, Nonie, the esteemed veteran actor, brought a heartfelt gravity to his line, embodying the concerned father figure.</p><p>By the looks of this script reading, “Un/Happy For You” is shaping up to be a relatable story made even more memorable by its cast and creative team.
