Sue Ramirez might be on the receiving end of all the &#x27;gigil&#x27; feels nowadays playing Lexy Lucero in <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/tbmv2022" target="_blank">The Broken Marriage Vow</a>, but in this interview with Karen Davila on the broadcast journalist’s YouTube channel, we get to admire this incredible actress with her inspiring personal journey.Sue revealed the difficulties she and her family experienced since her American father, James Peter Dodd, suffered a stroke when she was six years old. She shared to Karen that her dad just went home one day already a stroke patient unable to move or talk, something she dealt with for the next 11 years.This family ordeal eventually led her to try out for a <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/starmagic" target="_blank">Star Magic</a> audition in 2010, wherein she was among hundreds who lined up for a chance at an acting career.At this point, Sue said she did not imagine herself being an actress given that she only did some school presentations when she was young. She recalled the auditions were grueling, but she succeeded in getting Star Magic’s attention for a crack at showbiz.Sue then first landed a teen-oriented show, Shoutout in 2010, before getting cast for her first dramatic role in the 2011 adaptation of the classic teleserye Mula Sa Puso as Nicole Matias.Since then, Sue had to settle for supporting roles for years, a fact she says satisfied her given that she didn’t have to experience the pressure of being the lead star in these dramas. She revealed she felt she was like just having fun.Instead of expecting to get the big roles, Sue said, she would even love to get the supporting parts, because acting was her passion and that she was enjoying what she was doing.When she was part of the cast of <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/annaliza" target="_blank">AnnaLiza</a> as a 17 year-old actress, Sue had encountered the most difficult moment of her life—the passing of her father. This left her devastated and left without any motivation to continue her acting career.But despite her desolation, ABS-CBN continued to give her projects—a fact that pushed her further to remain in the business. These included the grand remake of the 2000 teleserye <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/pangakosayo" target="_blank">Pangako Sa&#x27;Yo</a> in 2015 starring Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, taking on the role of Ligaya, and Liza Soberano-Enrique Gil starrer <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/dolceamore" target="_blank">Dolce Amore</a> as Angel.And indeed, she prospered as a Kapamilya actress, while appearing in lead roles on the indie film circuit, with “Ang Babaeng Allergic Sa Wi-Fi” as her first marquee performance as an actress.Her subsequent riveting portrayals on <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/lalunasangre" target="_blank">La Luna Sangre</a>, <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/hanggangsaan" target="_blank">Hanggang Saan</a>, and <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/asoldiersheart" target="_blank">A Soldier’s Heart</a> paved the way for what is considered her biggest break in her 12-year career, playing Lexy Lucero in <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/tbmv2022" target="_blank">The Broken Marriage Vow</a>. As she plays the deeply scorned mistress in the highly rated Philippine adaptation of the British drama &quot;Doctor Foster,&quot; Sue related that she is similar to the character in giving it all for love, she won’t do the same thing in real life. Sue said everything goes to basic morals of not doing unto others what you don’t want them to do unto you.With her present accomplishments, Sue said she looks forward to other projects, particularly a hosting gig for a noontime show, which she said is her longtime dream.
