Former U.S. Secretary of State an 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton drew a standing ovation at the Democratic National Convention on Monday (August 19) as she summarized the history of women aiming for the White House and told Democratic women, "This is our time."

Clinton, who became the first woman to secure a major U.S. party's presidential nomination when she clinched the 2016 presidential nomination, dashed hopes of installing the first woman in the White House when she lost to Trump.

Clinton took several shots at her former nemesis. "Donald Trump fell asleep at his own trial, and when he woke up, he made his own kind of history, the first person to run for president with 34 felony convictions," she said to laughter.

She also smiled and nodded as the people started chanting “Lock him up!”, which is a different spin on one of the constant refrains of Trump's presidential campaign against Clinton in 2016.
