Cherie Gil admitted she is happy to be back in the Kapamilya network this year. “This is my first home. When I came back from the States, dito na talaga ako nasabak agad and then when Deo Edrinal talked to me about the project, there was no way I could not do it. Even when there was a point where I really wanted to rest for a while, bale in the past four years parang pang-nine ko na ata itong fantastic project. And every time I end up with ABS-CBN, it’s always so epic, it’s always a first like when we started with Gulong ng Palad, it was the first book na na-can yung show. I’m always grateful na I’m given this opportunity and I know I’m always being taken care of and at the same time I’ve always been a freelancer and as an actor I’ve always said na wherever I’m needed that’s where I’ll go especially pag challenging ang papel. And this role I’m playing is totally different and I’m really, really excited to keep going to work dahil sa challenge ng role na ito,” she admitted.
Cherie said her character is a victim of circumstance. “This is a woman who has gone through a lot of hardships in life na basically mahirap yung laging umiiyak para sa akin, yung laging suffering. Although on the lighter side she plays the barrio lass so haliparot ako dito at malandi so that’s the good side (laughs). And I’m totally deglamorized,” she explained.

Cherie said she is happy to be working with her peers like Jestoni Alarcon, Daniel Fernando, and Agot Isidro. “I am so glad to be part of this very wonderful show and be with my dear friend Agot. It's been a continuous celebration of my 50th year and comeback to this place where I've been able to work with these great people and be able to connect with wonderful human beings and I'm so happy to hear with what they have to say and for all that you have done for me in my 35 years in the business. There as time when I wanted to rest and my kids were away. I wanted to spend more time with them, but this is my calling and I love it so much. I cannot help it. And my family, we support each other, we're there for each other. It's part of my life. Even my kids I want them to know that I'm trying to do my best to fill in the time when I'm not with them so they know that my absence is worth it somehow and that I do my best,” she said.

The veteran actress also revealed who was her inspiration for her latest role. “Natutuwa ako, aaminin ko sa inyo ang peg ko dito si Mylene Dizon. For characters basta astig siya, I can say she's very feminine and you'll fall in love with her. Although sometimes when she's offered naman roles, she'll say ang gagawin niya dun mala-Cherie Gil (laughs). Nag-gagayahan kami kasi magkakasama kami lagi,” she said.
